Transdev Airport Services are seeking a high-calibre Charge Hand with a passion to manage the workshop operations by ensuring the safe, compliant, efficient and cost-effective repair and maintenance of all equipment and vehicles and to achieve the highest levels of customer service in line with agreed contractual service level agreements. This role is shift based 5 out of 7 days, with the ability to travel across various business units.
Key Responsibilities for the role are:
- Responsible for effective allocation of workshop resource in line with workshop loadings, whether it be planned or unplanned maintenance to achieve all KPI’s and SLA’s and take active measures to reduce interruptions and inefficiencies
- Manage chargehands to maintain and improve both Workshop productivity and efficiencies whilst ensuring all equipment is prioritised accordingly, including the management of all scheduled and unscheduled work to ensure equipment downtime is kept to a minimum and in line with customer KPIs
- Ensure compliance with legal and safety standards, including DfT regulations, while leading risk assessments and mitigating potential issues. To take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions
- Lead, direct and motivate all staff to maintain performance both now and in the future, encouraging and maintaining a motivated team with a ‘can-do’ approach and a workshop culture conducive to achieving the highest standards of performance
- Coach workshop colleagues in the areas of diagnosis, methods of repair, quality standards and job times and seek advice when required
- Effectively manages change processes in a timely and supportive fashion
- Continuously seeking (or encouraging others to seek) opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing organisational problems and opportunities
- Manage all costs and expenditure of the workshop in line with budgets and monthly Profit & Loss accounts, ensuring consistent on target performance
